I think you can sometimes avoid tacky nail art by simply picking colors from the same family. With contrasting colors, this look might be too much but I really like the final outcome with the similar tones.

I love tape manicures. I fell in love with them the first time I tried one.
They’re simple and clean and lovely and if you have the tiniest bit of patience, you can earn a huge reward. The Tape Manicure has the equivalent investment/payoff of buying a dozen bagels and leaving them in the office kitchen. It takes little to no effort with a disproportionately large return of admiration. Everyone thinks you’re amazing, and all you did was watch Mad Men and drink boxed wine while you taped off some designs on your fingernails.

You asked for more nail art, more nail art you shall get. This manicure was inspired by a fabric from J.Crew’s spring line. I blended two solid green/blue polishes together to get this particular shade of spring’s most popular shade. Tutorial as always, is below.
